Today JAFCO Ventures has $350 million under management with the recent closing of our third fund. We invest in early-stage technology companies within the communications, components, digital media, Internet, software and wireless sectors. In addition to the help we provide portfolio companies as seasoned venture capitalists, we add tangible value to portfolio companies with our Tokyo-based business development team dedicated to delivering significant revenue from the most prominent distributors and customers in Japan and other parts of Asia.
Our firm’s primary limited partner, JAFCO Co., Ltd., is a publicly traded venture capital and private equity firm based in Tokyo, with a very well established investment franchise that is highly regarded in Japan and throughout Asia. Founded in 1973, JAFCO Co., Ltd. has directly managed or been affiliated with over 60 investment funds globally through its offices in Japan, China, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and North America.
